There has been a massive paradigm shift in our industry.  Especially with the large rainfall of 2011, waterproofing companies have become profit driven.  But what does that mean to the homeowner?  

Waterproofing has become the buzzword in our society.  Are you really waterproofed?  Or are you just masking the effects of the water already in your foundation?  Innovation -- in this sense -- has a double meaning.  We find it unethical to sell systems that are glorified 'water maskers.'  If we can find a way of producing a lesser product at 1/8th of the price, but we are charging the homeowner the same -- who wins?  More importantly, who loses?

Classic example, Ultra-Dry's Fortress system. When it was invented, it was intended to be an industry standard.  It was affordable and proven the most fortified solution to cracks in your basement.  We intertwined kevlar into the carbon fibers to create an Ultra-Strap.  So why are companies still offering regular, old carbon straps?  If you are having this procedure done, ask the salesman and report back to us.  We would love to know!

We will spend our efforts on finding better ways to waterproof a house.  Before you protect your house with inferior products, we insist that you ask questions.  Read about what products a company uses.  Understand why carbon-kevlar straps are better, why cast iron bearings in your sump pump last longer, and why the Flexi-seal's moisture membrane exceeds standards for moisture barriers.  Folks, any waterproofing done to a house is a serious investment.  Not always do the most advertised companies do the best work.  It is imperative that you do research on your own before you make any decisions.
